hai! coffee
Independent. Designer and iOS developer, November 2022 to now.
A SwiftUI pour-over timer for the Hario V60 that learns from each brew and nudges the next one closer to the cup you want.

the idea
A coffee timer that does more than count. You set a taste goal for each bag of beans, then after each brew you taste and rate the cup, and the app recommends adjustments that move the next brew toward that goal. A personalised learning loop that dials in a bag over a few brews rather than leaving it to guesswork.
design
Designed in Figma around one principle: clarity first thing in the morning. The timer gives everything needed at a glance, nothing more. The app runs on a typed design token layer covering colour, type, spacing, radius, shadow and motion, which is the same idea this site runs on.
engineering
Swift and SwiftUI for a fast native experience, Acaia smart scale support over Bluetooth, a type-safe coordinator for routing, and the full apparatus of a maintained app: test plans, SwiftLint and SwiftFormat, GitHub Actions and Fastlane, with accessibility and localisation support. AI tools were used throughout for solving SwiftUI problems and accelerating implementation.
